Bonnie K. Turley


Bonnie Kay Turley, 71, of Charlotte, a woman of faith in Jesus Christ, went peacefully into the arms of the Lord on Tuesday, May 11, 2021. Bonnie was born August 2, 1949, in Charlotte, the daughter of Charles Allison and Mary Josephine (Roberts) Bracy. She graduated from Olivet High School in 1967 before completing her college education at the Grand Rapids School of Bible and Music in 1970. In her early life, Bonnie worked several jobs, including banking, pharmacy, grocery, and key punch operator. Her true calling in life came when she met and married David Lee Turley, who worked at Owens Illinois in Charlotte. The two fell in love and married on October 19, 1974, and they faithfully attended Ainger Bible Church until 1985. David and Bonnie served several churches throughout Michigan side-by-side as Pastor and Pastor’s wife. Following David’s retirement in 2014, they moved back to Charlotte. Bonnie adored and cherished her children and grandchildren, devoting her life to the love and care of her family, and faith in her Lord Jesus Christ.
Bonnie is survived by her husband of 46 years, David Turley; their children, Jesse (Stephanie) Turley, Rachel (Josh) Bell, and Charles (Courtney) Turley; grandchildren, Brycen and Jackson Turley, Noah, Sophia and Isaac Bell, Nayson Lasher, Leiland Wallace, and Wyatt and Alexander Turley; her sisters, Charlene (Richard) Kenney and Ruth (Clayton) Whipple; and her nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents.
Friends are encouraged to support Bonnie’s family. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at Ainger Bible Church with Pastor Dan Smith officiating. Visitation was from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, May 14, 2021 at the Pray Funeral Home Gardens, Charlotte. Mask, group capacity, and distancing guidelines will be practiced.
