Daniel A. Judd


Daniel Albert Judd, age 86, of Olivet, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 8, 2021, at Oaklawn Hospital in Marshall. He was born December 22, 1934, in Detroit, the son of Homer and Ruth (Towne) Judd. Dan graduated from Olivet High School with the Class of 1953. On July 21, 1956, he married the love of his life, Bonnie Jeanne Hall at the Olivet Congregational Church. Dan was first and foremost a lover of family. He cherished his wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Dan enjoyed passing along his knowledge to others. He was always ready and willing to teach and mentor others along life’s road. He always led by example and would never ask anyone to do anything he himself was not willing to do. Dan had a memory like an elephant and could often recall things from the past. He was a true gentleman who was known for his honesty and integrity throughout his life. Dan was a tool and die maker and a proud co-owner of Olivet Machine Tool Engineering.
Dan is survived by his wife of nearly 65 years, Bonnie; children, Michael (Kathleen) Judd of Olivet, Diane (Thomas) Hills of Harrietta, Mich., David (Brooke) Judd of Olivet, Susan (Patrick) Rankin of Olivet; ten grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and brother, Robert (Karen) Judd of Olivet.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Arthur and Nellie (Rosby) Towne; parents, Homer and Ruth Judd; and brother, William “Billy” Judd.
In keeping with Dan’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family memorial service will be held the Olivet Congregational Church.
