Evalyn Alderson


Evalyn “Annette” Alderson, 94, of Bellevue, Michigan passed away on Monday, September 19, 2022, surrounded by her loving family at home.
She was born on October 22, 1927, to Clarence and Flossy (Dunn) Knowles in Genoa, Ohio. She was a 1945 graduate of Battle Creek Central High school. On January 15, 1950, she married Glenn Alderson in Battle Creek, Michigan.
Annette worked at Ft. Custer State Home-Battle Creek as a caregiver aide for many years and she had also worked at Eaton Corporation in Battle Creek on the assembly line. She was a longtime member of Bellevue Christian Church and active lifetime member of the VFW Post # 565-Battle Creek. Annette was a well-known Mary Kay representative; she even received a Pontiac Red Sunbird for her successful sales. She loved her church, where she was active in teaching Sunday school and helping with services and dinners. She loved gardening, her flower and vegetable gardens were always bountiful. She was an avid oil painter and crafter. Annette enjoyed going for rides with her family and stopping for coffee or ice cream. She will be missed for her love of God, children and animals, especially her Yorkie, Bailey.
Evalyn “Annette” is survived by her children; Karen Johnson of Bellevue, Michigan and William (Pam) Alderson of Leesburg, Florida; her grandchildren: Mark (Amanda) Tooker, Charity Alderson, Jeremiah Alderson, Tember Johnson, Logan (Charity Grace) Alderson, Lance Weaver and Dylan Johnson and her seven great grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Dawn Alderson; her sister, Mary Jo Bowen; her brother, William Knowles and her sister, Claris Charameda.
Visitation for Annette will take place on Tuesday, September 27, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at Bellevue Christian Church with the funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Danesh Manik officiating. Burial will take place in Riverside Cemetery, Bellevue.
