Orville Bartley

Orville Bartley of Charlotte, a guy with a “spicy” personality that loved his family immensely, died March 24, 2023, at the age of 85. Born November 21, 1937, in Garrett, Kentucky to James and Haley Jane (Moore) Bartley, he grew up with a love for the outdoors and a knack for speaking his mind. He was honored to have served his country in the U.S. Army from 1956-1959, then in 1959 he married Judy Lynn Stone and they both worked for Owens Illinois while raising their children. A proud family man, Orville enjoyed family vacations, trips to the casino, playing cards with his family, taking his kids to horse races, and telling great stories to his kids and later grandkids, especially hunting, fishing, and boxing stories.
Orville is survived by his children, Lorrie (James) Tate, Julie (William) Ward, and Jamie (Teresa) Bartley; nine grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; sisters, Janice (Fred) Silva and Barbara (Duane) Fogg; and brother, James (Candice) Bartley. He was predeceased by his wife, Judy in 2014; granddaughter, Jessica Tate; grandsons, Hayden Bartley, and Trever Pennington; siblings, Raymond, Garland “Eddie,” Alverta, Roberta, Joyce, Belve, and Bertha.
