
James O. Robertson
James “Jim” O. Robertson, 79, of Potterville, Michigan, passed away surrounded by loved ones on December 1, 2025. He was born on February 3, 1946, in Lansing, Michigan, to James A. and Sophie (Wloch) Robertson.
A dedicated and hardworking man, James operated Carl’s Super Market in Potterville for 35 years, becoming a familiar and trusted presence in the community. Jim served for 39 years as an Emergency Responder with several departments. He also proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1965-1968.
Jim believed deeply in service and fellowship. He was the Past Worshipful Master of the Potterville Masonic Lodge and a life member of the Brookfield OES 352. Jim volunteered with the local food bank, was active in the Chamber of Business, serving on the Potterville School Board, and Boy Scouts, always eager to support his neighbors and community.
He had a love for the outdoors and hands-on work. His hobbies included lawn care, gardening, hunting, fishing, woodworking, mechanical tinkering, traveling, enjoying a hot cup of coffee, apple fritters, his John Deere Tractor, trips to Menards, and collecting Father Christmas Figurines, all of these brought him joy and peace throughout his life.
On November 21, 1970, Jim married the love of his life, Julie (Joseph) Robertson at the Potterville United Methodist Church, a church that they as a couple would dedicate a large part of their lives to. Together they raised three sons, James, Jeromy, Jacob, who were his pride and joy. He was blessed with eight grandchildren who brought immeasurable happiness to his later years.
Jim will be remembered for his kindness, strong work ethic, and the steady, generous heart he shared with all who knew him.
Jim Robertson is survived by his wife of 55 years, Julie; sons, James (Jean) Robertson, Jacob Robertson, Jeromy (Kimberly) Robertson; grandchildren, Eric, Kyle (Emily), Brett (Carlie), Alex, Ian (Jamie), Hayden, Lillian, Lola Robertson; and his two precious great-grand twin girls, Annalie and Lydia that entered the world shortly after his passing; brother, Bruce (Ann) Robertson. He is predeceased by his sister, Jeannie Robertson; his parents, and his in-laws, Chuck and Rita Joseph.
