Hayes Green Beach Memorial Hospital is excited to welcome all to an evening of creativity and connection at its fifth annual fundraising gala from 7 to 10 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 14.

This year’s theme is inspired by the Herman Melville quote, “We cannot live only for ourselves. A thousand fibers connect us; and among those fibers our actions run as causes, and they come back to us as effects.”

“The theme of ‘connect the dots’ will be demonstrated throughout each element at the event,” said Barbara Fulton, HGB director of community development. “From clever photo opportunities and inspired auction items to imaginative food and beverage conceptions, it is our goal to help guests experience HGB in unique and exciting ways.”

There will be a distinct focus on the ways we are all connected and there will be creative ways for guests to relax, interact and make a difference, Fulton explained.

HGB’s Development Council has planned an evening of memorable experiences, including an interactive silent auction, a 50/50 raffle, heavy appetizers, a cash bar and entertainment. Live music will range from Donny Brown and the Van Dell Tones to the acoustic music of Brandon McCoy and his special guests. There will be an artist painting, hoop dancers and special celebrations in recognition of the five-year anniversary of AL!VE’s opening.  There will also be opportunities to experience virtual reality with Vincent Brady, nocturnal photographer.

This year’s silent auction includes experience-themed items such as a stay at the Florida home featured in the movie Marley and Me, a Bell’s Brewery tour followed by tickets to a live performance by Jeff Daniels, an overnight party in the GROW treehouse at AL!VE, a girls’ day at a lake, a framed photograph of the Mackinaw Bridge with the Milky Way above, and many more. Attendees will again have the option to use their smart phones to view and bid on auction items, or to bid through an auction kiosk at the event.

HGB’s Annual Gala is generously supported by Presenting Sponsor MSU Federal Credit Union.  MSUFCU has been a gala sponsor each year, making possible many of the event’s unique elements.  New sponsors this year include Platinum Sponsor Advanced Radiology Services, PC, and Gold Sponsor EPMG (Emergency Physicians Medical Group).

The gala will be held at AL!VE: Your Community Well-Being Place, located at 800 W. Lawrence Avenue in Charlotte. Tickets can be purchased online hgbhealth.com/supporting-hgb. For questions regarding the event or to make other arrangements to purchase tickets, call (517) 543-1050, ext. 2190.
