A life-long Oriole, Dr. Heidi Hansen of Balanced Health Chiropractic has created a relaxing and welcoming environment for patients to pursue a healthier lifestyle in Charlotte. Dr. Hansen is a graduate from Life University and specializes in Gonstead and Atlas Orthogonal Chiropractic techniques. She is an active member of the Michigan Association of Chiropractors and the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association and has her Webster certification. She decided to pursue chiropractic because she experienced pain relief from it firsthand. Dr. Hansen was the first female on the Charlotte Football Team and the action on the field left her with migraine headaches. Chiropractic spinal adjustments relieved all of her symptoms.
Dr. Hansen believes that more people should make their spinal health a priority because the spinal cord is part of our nervous system which is responsible for all of our bodily functions. When someone starts going to the chiropractor, they should expect to return monthly in order to maintain their health. We go to the dentist every six months. Why not the chiropractor?
Dr. Hansen has seen patients from all ages; the youngest patient was 45 minutes old, and her oldest patient is 96 years old. Dr. Hansen’s favorite thing about her job is being able to see immediate relief for her patients. Many times, by the end of an adjustment, patients express that they are feeling balanced. Occasionally, mothers call her about their baby’s relief from tummy troubles. Being able to help people and connect with the community is what motivates Dr. Hansen the most.
There is plenty to offer at the office besides spinal adjustments. The office is very child friendly. Younger patients go on an adventure through Platform 9 ¾ in the Harry Potter themed child adjustment room. There are even Legos for added entertainment. Recently, Dr. Hansen introduced a new friendly face to the office. Helping keep patients calm and relaxed, 5 ½ month old Chirpa, a therapy dog in training, is the perfect addition to the Balanced Health team. Children love him.
Balanced Health has an exercise studio where they host Cardio Dance class on Wednesday and on Rumble Thursdays. Rumble is MMA style cardio kickboxing. You can relax in one of the massage chairs before or after an adjustment or schedule an appointment with one of the Licensed Massage Therapists. The massage therapists offer multiple types of massages, including Swedish, sports, aromatherapy and prenatal. Another relaxing option that Balanced Health offers is their foot detox. While waiting for their appointment, patients can shop around. The office is full of bright, beautiful paintings, honey, syrup, historical woman trading cards, and festive fall decorations from local artists. It’s just another way that Dr. Hansen supports her community.
