The 2nd Annual Internship Fair at Olivet College is fast approaching. There is still time, however, to sign up to take part in the event created by the local group, Eaton Emerging Talent Initiative.

Strong relationships were built last year among Olivet College and the greater Charlotte business community through the developing Eaton County Emerging Talent Initiative (ETI) group. The group formed last year to tap into the pool of talented students attending Olivet College and to get them acquainted with internship opportunities in the Charlotte area.

Its signature event, an internship fair held last November, drew 24 local organizations, placing 10 interns from Olivet College among them. The committee, made up of members of Can Do! as well as Olivet College faculty, has set a goal of enlisting 60 businesses and organizations to participate in this year’s internship fair.

The group is also working on improving its communications with prospective businesses. ETI has created an Event Brite web site — www.OlivetInternshipFair.eventbrite.com — that will allow organizations to pre-register for the 2nd Annual Internship Fair, scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 30 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Registering early will also allow the committee to target majors employers are looking for in prospective interns.

Olivet College Majors include: Computer Science, Biology, Mathematics, English, Journalism, Special Education, IT, Communications, Criminal Justice, Health/Wellness, Sports Management, Psychology, Business Management, Accounting, Marketing, among others.

More information about the Oct. 30 event can be found online at ETI’s Event Brite web site.
