Your Charlotte Performing Arts Center invites you to create lasting family memories at two upcoming productions.
First on Jan. 23, at 2 and 5 p.m., classic children’s characters the Berenstain Bears will take to the stage in a musical production. Adapted from the classic children’s book series by Stan and Jan Berenstain, The Berenstain Bears LIVE! in Family Matters, the Musical brings everyone’s favorite bear family to life in a thrilling theatrical experience that kids as well as their parents will treasure for many years to come.
As always, Bear Country is not without its complications: Brother Bear’s grades are slipping, Sister Bear still has a few things to learn about making new friends, and Papa Bear just can’t stop eating junk food. Thankfully, we can always depend on Mama Bear and her loving patience to help set things right. The newest Off-Broadway musical for Mamas, Papas, and Young Cubs in NYC, The Berenstain Bears LIVE! will give boys and girls of all ages the chance to fall in love with these characters, just as their parents did when they were growing up. Tickets range in price, with a special discounted family four pack available (Family four packs are available only by stopping by or calling the box office directly at (517) 541-5690). Plus in the VIP section, you get to see the show from the first three rows, each child gets a Berenstain Bears activity book, and you will all get a meet and greet reception with punch, cookies, and photo op with the Bear Family themselves.
Then the family can all enjoy the Arts for Youth On Stage Experience production of The Fairy Tale Courtroom on Feb. 4 and 5 at 7 p.m. each evening. Prepare for an evening of laughter, bad puns, groans and moans as your favorite nursery rhyme and fairy tale characters come to life on stage as they film the most popular television show in all of Far Far Away – The Fairy Tale Courtroom! Judge Lipner presides over the cases, and the details may not be exactly as you know or remember them. And in this special edition – you the audience are the jury! Is the Wicked Witch guilty or were her acts out of self-defense? Will you send B. B. Wolf to the hoosegow? You hold their fates in your hands! Advance tickets for this production are by calling the box office directly at (517) 541-5690.
