In a time of instability and uncertainty, the Bellevue Athletic Department is certain of one thing… that we would like to extend our most sincere gratitude to the people that work so hard to positively impact the lives of our students and student-athletes.
First and foremost, we would like to thank the Bellevue staff, educators and administrators who continue to go above and beyond to provide a quality education for the students at Bellevue Community Schools. It has not been easy to adapt to changes on the fly as much as they have, nor has it been easy to adapt instruction to the, often last minute, changes of being face-to-face or virtual. However, it is because of these wonderful people at Bellevue Community Schools that the students continue to be engaged, learning and cared for throughout this pandemic.
Next, we would like to thank the coaches and volunteers that dedicate so much of their time to our student-athletes. When they aren’t able to have practice in the building, they are communicating through zooms and group chats to ensure the students feel the sense of  belonging that often comes from being on a team. They have given workouts to their players that they can do at home so that conditioning doesn’t fall to the wayside. We have asked them to alter their coaching style, mask up, and all while keeping track of the student’s health, temperature, and well-being.  Not one of them has batted an eye or had one bad thing to say. They are showing our Broncos how to conduct themselves when facing adversity and, in doing so, continue to be great role models.
Lastly, we would like to thank the parents, families and our incredible community. It is not easy to have things changing last minute, to not be able to plan for a sports season or to be shuffled around consistently. However, the athletic department continues to receive a tremendous amount of support for which we are very grateful. Every decision we are making is grounded in the safety and health of our athletes, coaches, families, and community. So, hang in there a little longer as we try to get these athletes back to competing safely.
