Betty L. Saylor

Betty Lucille Saylor, a woman of strength and integrity, died September 7, 2021 in Lansing. Betty, 82, of Dimondale, formerly Potterville, was born July 21, 1939 in Lansing, the daughter of Wendall Jay and Lucille Betty (Gackley) Linn. She graduated from Potterville High School in 1957, and later worked for the Potterville Schools in food service for nearly 40 years, retiring in 1991. Throughout her years with the schools, she volunteered countless hours with athletic events, and was honored many times with awards acknowledging her devotion to the students and the community. Following her retirement, she was later called back to work to help with staffing and to share her expertise and talents.  Her affiliation with the Potterville Methodist Church and membership with the Lioness Club provided her with a wonderful social network of gatherings. She bowled and crocheted and enjoyed her time with family. Betty was a delight to all who knew her and had many cherished friends. Her children and grandchildren will always remember the respect she instilled in them, and her lifelong devotion to teaching them to always do the right thing always.

Betty is survived by her loving children, Robert (Noreen) Saylor, Wendy (Richard) Tabor, and Todd (Connie) Saylor; grandchildren, Andrew (Kristen) Saylor, Derek (Molly) Saylor, Erin Tabor, Kyle Tabor, Brian (Michelle) Saylor, Eric Saylor, Corrie (Bryan) Dahlgren, Benjamin Saylor, Bryce Saylor, Clarissa (Ben) Sanders, Garrison Saylor, Annalise Saylor, Grant Saylor, and Sylvia Saylor; 4 great-grandchildren; siblings, Toni (Jerry) Shores and Donald (Gail) Gardner; and her nieces and nephews.
