Bruce T. Doig
Bruce Thomas Doig, age 59, of Nashville, passed away unexpectedly and entered into God’s eternal glory at his home on Sunday, May 2, 2021. He was born January 30, 1962, in Lansing, Mich. the son of Donald and Sarah (Bickler) Doig. Bruce graduated from Okemos High School with the class of 1980. On February 19, 2005, he married Kimberly Sue Atwood at Christ Lutheran Church in Monroe. Bruce adored his family and loved just being together with Kim and Aaron. He had a servant’s heart and could often be found working in his quiet way to see to it that others were always taken care of before himself. He was a faithful member of First Lutheran Church of Charlotte, where he often served in numerous different compacities. Bruce was a wonderful cook and his family always looked forward to his next culinary treat. He was an avid Coca Cola collector and enjoyed WWII history.
Bruce is survived by his wife of 16 years, Kim; son, Aaron; sisters: Drusilla Qualman of Worthington, Ohio., Melissa (Gary) Girty of Lakeside, Calif.; and countless friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 14, 2021, at 11 a.m. at the First Lutheran Church with Rev. Jim Eggert officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Burkhead-Green-Kilgo Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church.
