
James Catey Wilson
James Catey Wilson, aged 93, passed away Saturday, March 14, 2026.
Mr. Wilson was born April 7, 1932, in Charlotte, Michigan, the son of the late Maurice Wilson and the late Josephine (Catey) Wilson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lola (Donley) Wilson, son-in-law, Lawrence B Lindemer III, and sister, Patricia (James) Crandall. He graduated from Charlotte High School in 1950 and began working with his father at Wilson Tire Service.
In 1952, Mr. Wilson was inducted into the U.S. Army. He served during the Korean War and attained the rank of Corporal. Following his military service, he returned home and continued working in the family business while studying accounting at Lansing Business University.
On June 18, 1960, he married Lola Donley, and together they made their home in Charlotte. Mr. Wilson later worked in shipping and receiving at Johnson Iron Industries, Inc., where he dedicated many years of service.
He was an active member of the Charlotte Lions Club and the First Congregational United Church of Christ. Mr. Wilson enjoyed both playing and watching sports and was a devoted fan of University of Michigan football, often attending games with his family.
He is survived by his children, Pamela Lindemer of Rockford, Michigan, and Patrick Wilson of Cherry Valley, Illinois; two grandchildren, Hayley (Jacob) Walker and Jacob (Kaitlin) Lindemer; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Charlotte.
