
Lori May Hosmer
Lori May Hosmer of Holt, MI, formerly of Eaton Rapids, MI, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at the age of 67. Lori was born on November 12, 1958, in Lansing, MI, the daughter of June and Josephine (Graves) Squires. She grew up in Eaton Rapids and graduated with the Class of 1976.
In her early years, Lori devoted herself to raising her three children, a role she treasured deeply. She later entered the workforce, beginning with Eaton Rapids Public Schools, then Lynn Products in Charlotte, and eventually Lear in Mason, where she worked until her retirement in 2007.
Lori married Rob Hosmer, in 1994. Together, they shared countless memories camping at Just-in-Time Campground in Ithica, tubing the Muskegon River, and enjoying time spent together in the outdoors. Lori and Rob also spent four meaningful years in Louisiana, where they dedicated themselves to Hurricane Katrina relief efforts, serving communities in need.
Family was at the center of Lori’s life. She adored her children and grandchildren and cherished every moment spent with them. Lori had a special gift for connecting with others, people were naturally drawn to her warmth, humor, and generous spirit, and she formed many lasting friendships throughout her life. She also had a lifelong love for animals and rescued and cared for many beloved pets over the years.
Lori was preceded in death by her parents, June and Josephine Squires, and her stepmother, Mary Kay Squires. She is survived by her husband, Rob Hosmer; her children, Quaqien (Trisha) Gauna, Kolya (Elizabeth) Gauna, and Natasha Gauna; her stepchildren, Rachel (Elijah) Luna, Bethany (Rusty) Bertch, and Kathryn (Cameron) McKinney; grandchildren, Isai, Gisele, Austin, Gabriella, Audriana, Paisley, Lydia, Monroe, Scout, Elliot, Nora, and Madelyn; her sister, April Aalfs; and many extended family members and dear friends.
A Celebration of Life luncheon will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at the Onondaga Sportsman Club, 5124 Gale Rd., Onondaga, MI.
