Michael Davis

Michael “Mike” Eugene Davis of Charlotte passed unexpectedly on Friday, October 21, 2022, at age 66. Mike is survived by his wife, Joyce; step-children, Alex (Nikki) Hughes, and Alana (Paul) Ruvolo; grandchildren, Ava, Kiana, Xander, Brody, Dash, and Viviana; siblings, Mitch Davis, and Michella (Michael) Wheat; and his nieces, nephews, and great-nieces. He was predeceased by his parents, Roy and Reiko Davis.
Mike was born August 15, 1956, in Charlotte, MI, the son of Roy and Reiko (Okano) Davis. A graduate of Charlotte High School and Lansing Community College, Mike worked as a Manufacturing Engineer in the automotive industries and worked for various companies throughout his career.
Mike always cherished time with family and his lifelong friends. He especially loved his time with his wife and long-time companion of 30 years, Joyce (VanDyke) Hughes.
With many passions in life, Mike enjoyed tinkering with his cars and especially time spent with his grandchildren. Mike was known for doing anything the grandchildren asked of him. He loved working on projects and building things for the grandkids – from dollhouses to train tables to bunk beds. Family meant everything to Mike, he was very proud of his Japanese heritage on his mother’s side, and he was known to drop everything to help his parents, sister, and brother with anything they needed. An outgoing, fun-loving man who always enjoyed making people laugh, Mike leaves his family and friends with many beloved stories to cherish, love, remember, and laugh together.
