David Anderson
David Anderson, 68, of Huger, South Carolina, passed away peacefully at home Monday, March 20, 2023, after a hard-fought battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born in Michigan on April 13, 1954, to Jewelene and Earl Anderson.
Dave enjoyed riding and racing motorcycles, working on their farm, hunting and spending time with family and friends. He was retired from a career in sales.
Dave was predeceased by his father Earl Anderson, sister Susan Burns, and his stepson Braden Hodges. He is survived by his loving wife, Paige; and his caring daughter, Michelle Blythe (Greg) of Conway, SC; his mother, Jewelene Anderson of Eaton Rapids; his brother, Don Anderson of Eaton Rapids; his stepdaughter, Katie DuPre (Michael) of Moncks Corner, SC.; and stepdaughter-in-law, Ariana Hodges of Ridgeville, SC. He is also survived by his loving grandchildren, Alex and Chloe Montgomery, Blaise and Finley Hodges, and Remley DuPre. He was loved and will be greatly missed.

Peggy Ann McElwain
Peggy Ann McElwain of Eaton Rapids, MI, formerly of Lansing, MI, passed away surrounded by her family, March 25, 2023, at the age of 73. She was a beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt and grandmother. Peggy was born in Lansing, MI on May 12, 1949, to Arthur and Lucille (Martin) Alden. Peggy graduated from Everett High School in 1966 and on August 13, 1967, she married the love of her life, Ronnie. They had one son, Michael. She enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling in their camper, crafting, and just giving to those in need. Peggy worked over 30 years at the Dimondale Nursing & Rebab Center, first as a Restorative Aide and later an Activities Aide. She was very passionate when it came to her residents. After retiring from the Dimondale Center, she spent many years volunteering at the Jean Bradford Kline Senior Center.
Peggy is survived by her husband of 55 years, Ronnie; son, Michael (Lisa) McElwain of Eaton Rapids; sister, Connie Derr of Eaton Rapids; brothers, Larry Alden of Onondaga, and Gary (Dotie) Alden of West Branch; grandchildren: Michelle (Mike), Michael, and Mathew; great grandchildren, Beckham, Ellie, and Marley; many nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Lucille and nephews, Rickey Derr and Russell Myers.
A celebration of Peggy’s life will be held at the Jean Bradford Kline Senior Center, 201 Grand St., Eaton Rapids, MI 48827, on May 6, 2023, from 2-6 p.m. All are invited to attend and celebrate Peggy who was special to so many people. Orville Bartley
Orville Bartley of Charlotte, a guy with a “spicy” personality that loved his family immensely, died March 24, 2023, at the age of 85. Born November 21, 1937, in Garrett, Kentucky to James and Haley Jane (Moore) Bartley, he grew up with a love for the outdoors and a knack for speaking his mind. He was honored to have served his country in the U.S. Army from 1956-1959, then in 1959 he married Judy Lynn Stone and they both worked for Owens Illinois while raising their children. A proud family man, Orville enjoyed family vacations, trips to the casino, playing cards with his family, taking his kids to horse races, and telling great stories to his kids and later grandkids, especially hunting, fishing, and boxing stories.
Orville is survived by his children, Lorrie (James) Tate, Julie (William) Ward, and Jamie (Teresa) Bartley; nine grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; sisters, Janice (Fred) Silva and Barbara (Duane) Fogg; and brother, James (Candice) Bartley. He was predeceased by his wife, Judy in 2014; granddaughter, Jessica Tate; grandsons, Hayden Bartley, and Trever Pennington; siblings, Raymond, Garland “Eddie,” Alverta, Roberta, Joyce, Belve, and Bertha.

Jennifer Sue Pickett
Jennifer Sue Pickett, age 52, of Charlotte, passed away at her home on Friday, March 24, 2023. She was born July 25, 1970, in Marshall, Michigan, the daughter of James and Lonna (Watson) Pickett. Jenny was raised in Charlotte and graduated from Charlotte High School in 1988. She had a passion for her family and was devoted to each of them. She cherished her son, Andrew, and enjoyed spending time together with him. Jenny was a fantastic cook and she enjoyed preparing food for their many family gatherings. In her spare time, she enjoyed crafting, shopping, and her special dog, Millie.
Jenny is survived by her son, Andrew of Charlotte; mother, Lonna Pickett of Charlotte; father, James (Susie) Pickett of Ocala, Florida; brother, James (Laura) Pickett of Hastings; stepsons: Trevor (Cheyanne) Gingrich, Grant (Katelyn) Gingrich, and Jesse (Hannah) Simmons, three nieces, one nephew, and many friends.
She was preceded in death by several aunts and uncles.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, April 5, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at the Burkhead-Green-Kilgo Funeral Home with Pastor Danny Quanstrom of the Hastings Church of the Nazarene officiating. The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.

Jay Lee Cobb
Jay Lee Cobb, a very talented woodworker that loved sharing his skill with friends and family, died March 21, 2023. Jay, 74 of Charlotte was born in Laingsburg, MI on May 27, 1948 to Charles and Bernice (Howard) Cobb. A quiet guy, Jay was also generous to a fault, often working on projects for others and never charging them anything. Jay was a crew leader at Owens Illinois until his retirement. He loved hunting and did so until his health made it too difficult for him.
Jay is survived by his wife, Jane; son, Trent Allen Cobb; step-daughter, Jessica (Darrel) Greenhoe; siblings, Diana (Eric) Noble, Patty (Tom) Aldredge, and Jerry (Linda) Cobb. He was preceded in death by his parents.
