Wanona was born January 15, 1929, to the late Myrl and Effie (Shumaker) Dillon in Charlotte, Michigan, graduating from Olivet High School in 1947. After graduating she went to visit her aunt and uncle in Mathews, Missouri, where she was introduced to William Hathcox, soon to become the love of her life, and the man she married, September 11, 1949 at the Congregational Church in Olivet.
Wanona loved bowling, golfing, and traveling; but her greatest joy was her love for her family. Knowing that she was going to be a great-grandmother again, we believe that she stayed with us long enough so that she could get to see and hold this bundle of joy (and she did just that) – her namesake, Charlotte Wanona Hathcox.

She also had extended family of Leann, of whom she thought so much; Justin (Bonnie) Meier, boys Seth, Tanner, Ripplinger, daughter Jessica (Adam) and children, Jackson, Wesley, Elise and Stuart.
