Mark Steven Johnson, 65, of Charlotte MI passed away September 7, 2022. Mark was born January 23, 1957, in Lansing Michigan.
Survived by, parents Marilyn (Duane) Phillips, Lyle (Jacqueline) Johnson, daughter Megan M. Puma, and grandson Gavin Puma, sister Beth (David) Ziegler. Memorial will be held in honor of Mark on September 27th, 2022, at 1:00 p.m., Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home DeWitt Michigan.

John McLane


John Mark McLane, age 63, of Charlotte, passed away at his home. He was born July 28, 1959, in Charlotte the son of Carroll and Elberta (Luce) McLane. John graduated from Charlotte High School with the Class of 1977. John was an outdoorsman in the truest sense of the word. He loved hunting, fishing, and off-roading. He also enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson and was an avid gun collector. John will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
John is survived by his sister, Mary (Tom) Lobdell of St. Louis, Michigan, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers.
A graveside service was held on Saturday, September 10, 2022, at West Carmel Cemetery with Pastor Todd McLane officiating.

Katheryn Heisler


Katheryn “Kate” Ann Heisler, an independent woman who enjoyed the outdoors, died on Sunday, September 18, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. Kate 70, of Charlotte was born March 21, 1952, in Charlotte, MI, the daughter of Duane and Mary (Drewyor) Shaver. She loved spending time with her family and friends. Her family will always cherish the Halloween memories when Kate would dress up as a witch each year and pass out her famous popcorn balls. In her younger years she attended clown school with her sisters and together they would do clown shows around the area. Kate loved spending time outdoors and working in her immaculate flower gardens. She worked for 30 plus years for Owens-Illinois in Charlotte. Kate was known for being a collector of antiques and jewelry. Above all her proudest accomplishment in her life was her ability to provide for herself and everything that she had.
Kate is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Heisler-May; grandchildren, Tyler (Kirsten) Butters, Timmothy May, Tabitha May, Jonnie May, Thomas May, and Bridget May; great-grandchildren, Blake and Daniel May; sisters, Jackie (Jerry) Goddard, and Jody (Rich) Little; and nieces, nephews, close cousins and many aunts and uncles. She was predeceased by her parents, and her beloved dog, Chevy.

Forest Lewis


Forest “Bub” Edward Lewis, Jr., 69, died peacefully on Thursday, September 8, 2022, at his home in Charlotte, Michigan. Forest “Bub” was born October 9, 1952, in Lansing, the son of Forest, Sr. and Anna (Purcell) Lewis. He graduated from Charlotte High School in 1970. Forest worked various jobs over the years. He worked at OI for over 18 years and then retired from Tokai Rika in Battle Creek, Michigan.
Forest was a man of many talents and generous spirit. He was known to be stubborn on the outside but sentimental on the inside. He enjoyed playing games on his computer, fishing and raising chickens. He really loved a good gossip story. His family was very important to him. On June 24, 1972, he married Marsha Burt. Together they raised two sons.
Forest “Bub” is survived by his sons: Jason (Angie) Lewis, John (Liz) Lewis; his grandchildren: Kaylib (Reba) Lewis, Colby Lewis, Blake Lewis, Victoria Music, Talia (Bret) Geodert, Savanah Lewis and Kylie Lewis; his great grandchildren: Zeke Lewis, Emmett Lewis, Huntlie Lewis and Paisley Geodert; his mother, Anna Lewis; his sisters: Dorma Mosher, Pearl Smith, Barbara Powers; many nieces and nephews; his special friend, Brenda Nemetz and his beloved fur companion, Shay. He was preceded in death by his brother, Johnny Edwin Lewis; his father, Forest Edward Lewis, SR.
A memorial service is being planned for Saturday, October 8, 2022, from 3 – 5 p.m. at the Eagles, 116 Lansing Street, Charlotte.
