Joan M. Feldpausch (Hanes)

Joan Marie Feldpausch, a vibrant and loving mother and friend, died peacefully on Saturday, February 3, 2018, in Lansing. Joan, 83, of Charlotte, was born March 12, 1934 in Lansing, the daughter of Raymond Clifford and Bertha Loretta (White) Hanes. As a 3-year-old, Joan sang with Lou Dougherty’s Dance Band throughout the Lansing area, performing into her teen years. She found love at first sight when she met Theodore Donald Feldpausch at a shuffleboard. He asked if she would teach him the jitterbug, which led to a dancing date and, eventually, marriage. The two remained happily married until his death in 2013. Joan was skilled with numbers, managing the family finances and working as an accountant with Danielson-Schultz for more than 10 years.  She also devoted much of her time to volunteering for her community, serving as Secretary on the West Windsor School Board, donating to countless charities, and serving in many capacities as a member of the Auxiliary of Charlotte Eagles Aerie #3552.  Above all, Joan was a devoted friend, wife, and mother.

Joan is survived by her daughter, Denise (Robert) Senko; step-grandchildren, Randy (Chasity) Senko, Trevor Senko and Mindy Senko; and step-great-grandchildren, Lucas, Ashley and Bryce.

She was predeceased by her husband, Theodore Donald Feldpausch.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at Pray Funeral Home, with Pastor Charles Jenson officiating. Visitation was held from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home on Friday, February 9, 2018.  Interment will take place in Deepdale Memorial Gardens in Lansing.
