Stuart L. Anderson

Stuart Lewis Anderson, 78, of Battle Creek passed away at home on May 6, 2021. He was born to Lewis and Agnes “Maxine” (McCallum) Anderson on June 23, 1942 in Charlotte, MI being one of six children in a very close-knit family. Stuart attended school in Olivet where many friendships were formed that lasted his entire life. He married the one, true love of his life, Dianna Franks, in Charlotte in 1975. He was a true father to her three children and her two grandchildren until the very end. He especially loved and spoiled his grandsons and spent every day teaching them about life.
Stuart was known for being a true friend to many, many people. He did not know a stranger; he was just that kind of a guy. He worked at various jobs throughout his life and always gave 100% of his attention to the task at hand, endearing himself to whoever he was working for with his tremendous work ethic. Stuart spent several years working for Borgman Sand and Gravel in Olivet as a heavy equipment operator. While working in the gravel pit, he was fascinated by the various kinds of rocks he found. He became an avid rock collector, collecting and polishing “one-of-a-kind” rocks. Stuart embodied the term, “a handyman,” as he could repair anything. He was known for his passion for gardening, and he could raise the biggest, most beautiful flowers you have ever seen! His vegetable garden was second to none.
Stuart will be forever loved and missed by his three brothers; Chuck (Judy) Anderson of St. Johns, Larry Anderson of Charlotte, and Eddie Anderson of Charlotte; step-children, Victoria (Lyle) Stokes of Battle Creek, Penny (Tim) Palmer of Battle Creek, Marty Whitman of Battle Creek; step-grandsons, Chad Palmer and Justin Palmer; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Yvonne Moore, and one brother Lonnie Anderson.
In lieu of donations or memorial contributions, the family requests that you plant some flowers in Stuart’s memory to help make the world a more beautiful place.
In keeping with Stuart’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a graveside service will be held on Monday, June 28, 2021 at 2 PM at Bosworth Cemetery, Olivet, MI with Pastor Chuck Jensen officiating.
