Hey out there to all the Saloon fans, you guessed it … the Charlotte Frontier Days Candy Ford Saloon is once again opening its doors for you to come hang out with all your friends, old and new. The Saloon will be a very happening splace Sept. 3 through Sept. 6.

All of the action gets underway Wednesday at 6 p.m. as the Candy Ford Saloon hosts the Prince and Princess pageant, inaugural Charlotte Chamber of Commerce Chili Cook Off and the King and Queen Scholarship presentation.

Thursday night is Throw Back Thursday — 80’s style. The band Square Pegz will be blasting away 80’s tunes we probably all remember and still sing to. Come join us for big hair, parachute pants and some old time drinks. Not into the 80s? No worries, DJ Trivia will take place in the big tent from 7 to 10 p.m.

Another staple of Charlotte Frontier Days is the Dancing Deputies. They will be performing around 8:45 p.m. and you won’t want to miss that.

Friday the Candy Ford Saloon re-opens from 5 to 6 p.m. for Happy Hour. Drink specials are abundant during this first hour and there is no cover charge. At 6 p.m. the cover charge is initiated and is still only $5 for the entire night’s entertainment. Cottage Inn Pizza will be there, so there is no need to worry about dinner. There will be 50/50 drawings throughout the night.

At 9 p.m. Charlotte Frontier Days welcomes the Kari Lynch Band to the stage. This will be the first time Kari has been with us and is an up and coming star on the Country Circuit. Tunes “R” Us will be playing on and off all evening, so there will be no time to relax, and we’ll keep that dance floor rocking. Again the Dancing Deputies will be performing their great and tasteful dance moves for all to enjoy. The Saloon will be open from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. on Friday.

The Candy Ford Saloon opens at noon on Saturday for the Battle of the Bands. Two big screen T.V’s in the tent, courtesy of Rent-A-Center of Charlotte, will broadcast the day of college football.  The Saloon will close from 5 to 6 p.m. to clean and get ready for the night.

The Candy Ford Saloon re-opens from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. for the evening entertainment. Again Cottage Inn Pizza will be serving up the pie. There will be several 50/50 drawings throughout the night. The Dancing Deputies will be performing a couple times and Tunes “R” Us will be providing the early dance music.  Then at 9 p.m., Cry’n Wolf will rock the Saloon until closing time. There will be hourly drink specials and don’t forget the slushies.

So mark your calendars, make an entry into your smart phone, do whatever you have to do to remind yourself to be in Charlotte Sept. 3 through Sept. 6. There is so much to do besides the Saloon. There is the Rodeo, the Frontier Market, Arts and Crafts at the old Courthouse, the huge parade, the car show, Bennett Park for tons of fun for the kids.

Come on down, you won’t be disappointed! See ya’ll soon!
