Nashville recording artist Brenda Loomis will bring her special blend of talent, professionalism and fan-friendly, high energy to the historic 1885 Eaton County Courthouse Square this coming Thursday evening, August 3, part of the Summer Concerts on the Square free music series. The Brenda Loomis Band will be playing one familiar country, rock and blues hit after another, as well as the band’s original songs currently in rotation on hit country radio.

Lead vocalist Brenda Loomis fronts the band, which also features lead, steel and accoustic guitars, keyboards, dobro, sax, bass and drums, blended with power harmonies that make for an entertaining evening. Well-known throughout Michigan, Brenda Loomis has shared the stage with such acts as Keith Urban, Darius Rucker, Florida-Georgia Line, Tim McGraw, the Zac Brown Band and many others. Brenda’s song “I’m Raising My Standard” recently went No. 1 on Soundclick.com, her sixth online No. 1 in two years. Her music is being heard on hundreds of radio stations in Europe, and more than 1,200 Clear Channel stations in the US.

“We try to bring a variety of different music to the series each year,” Bryan Myrkle said. He is the organizer of the concert series. “We get tons of requests for country music, and it can be hard to find really good country artists. I’m excited to have this band on our stage.”

The Summer Concerts on the Square free music series continues each Thursday evening through the end of August. All shows begin at 6:30 p.m. and run approximately two hours. Concertgoers are encouraged to bring their lawn chairs, picnic baskets and non-alcoholic refreshments. Concerts will be moved to the First Congregational Church (right across the street) in case of rain. Be sure to check out the Charlotte Artisan and Farmers Market on the Courthouse Square on Thursdays, too.
