The Dimondale Business Association (DBA) has narrowed its list of suspects, but needs your help in putting the clues together that will identify who committed the “Murder at the Masquerade.”
This unique and fun fund-raiser, planned for Saturday, Nov. 7, is a new opportunity for Dimondale businesses and the community at large to get reacquainted in an informal setting.
“It will be a classy, fun night,” said Denise Parisian, Dimondale Village Manager and president of the DBA. “This is another way to have fun and interact with each other. We don’t get to do that much.”
It’s also an opportunity for the Dimondale Business Association to raise funds to help further its mission of supporting its members and the Dimondale community.
Tickets are $50 and are available at Union Bank and Holt & Dimondale Agency. The event will take place at the Country Creek Reception Hall in Dimondale, beginning at 6:30 p.m. and features dinner, the murder mystery performed by a professional company out of Grand Rapids, music and a cash bar.
Parisian said guests are encouraged to dress up in their finest evening wear, though no strict dress codes will be enforced. Keeping with the masquerade theme, participants are also encouraged to wear masks to the event.
“This has the potential to make some good money for us,” Parisian said of the Dimondale Business Assoication.
She said since the DBS formed five years ago it has focused much of its efforts on advertising for its member businesses. She said this fundraiser will go a long way in bolstering those efforts.
“We’ve generated a lot of buzz, but we’re still new enough that we have to work really hard to make sure people know what we are about,” Parisian said.
Suspects in the murder mystery include long-time resident Mary Jo Harmon, former Village President Mike Chappell, First Presbyterian Church Pastor Scott Crane, Union Bank Manager Lindsay Ferrell, Holt Dimondale Insurance Agency Owner Pat Brown and Village Trustee Lori Conarton.
