The survivor of the MHSAA girls Class B District in Olivet will have certainly earned a championship. The loaded District features Kalamazoo Valley Association champion Olivet as well as the top three teams in the Capital Area Activities Conference Gold, Eaton Rapids, Jackson Northwest and Charlotte. The top four teams in the District have combined for more than 50 wins on the season.
The Orioles get things underway on Monday, Feb. 24 as they tip off with Parma Western, a team the Orioles have defeated twice already this season. The winner advances to a semi-final game against Jackson Northwest on Wednesday, Feb. 26.
The highlight of the District, however, may take place in the first round as Olivet, undefeated in the KVA, takes on Eaton Rapids on Feb. 24, following the Charlotte game. The winner advances to play Leslie in the semi-finals on Wednesday. The championship game will be held Friday, Feb. 28 at 7 p.m. at Olivet High School.
In Class C action, Potterville will take on Maple Valley on Monday, Feb. 24 at 7 p.m. at Springport High School. The winner moves on to face Dansville on Wednesday, Feb. 26 at 6 p.m. Springport and Galesburg-Augusta are also in this District. The championship game will be held Friday, Feb. 28 at Springport High School.
In Class D, Bellevue will play Marshall Academy on Monday, Feb. 24 at 6 p.m. The winner of that game will play the winner of Tekonsha and Jackson Christian in the Class D District final on Friday, Feb. 28 at Tekonsha High School.
