Sunfield Township resident and Eaton County Treasurer, Bob Robinson, was elected to serve as first vice president to the board of directors for the Michigan Association of County Treasurers (MACT) at its 2020 Virtual Summer Conference on August 25. As first vice president, Bob will plan the association’s upcoming 2021 winter conference, chair the association’s nominating committee for future board appointments, and preside over meetings in the absence of the president. He will also chair the association’s public awareness initiative to inform the public about the many services and responsibilities of county treasurers statewide. The first vice president is a voting member of the board of directors.
Bob served as second vice president of MACT in 2019 and secretary in 2018. He will hold the first vice president position for a one-year term of office, and will transition to the president’s post in 2021.
“I am proud and humbled to represent Eaton County on the board of this important organization,” said Bob. “MACT is a leading voice for protecting the interests of taxpayers statewide.”
Established in 1934, MACT provides educational and best practices opportunities for eighty-three county treasurers statewide, assists with legislation affecting Michigan’s General Property Tax Act, promotes consistency of operations among treasurer’s offices throughout the state, and works to protect the interests of all taxpayers.
