Eaton Rapids Medical Center

— We at Eaton Rapids Medical Center (ERMC) recognize the COVID-19 (coronavirus) outbreak has turned many things into an uncertainty. Services our community has come to expect and rely upon have been altered, reduced or postponed while we all do our best to stay safe throughout this continually evolving situation. However, I want to remind all of our patients and community members of the importance of seeking and receiving critical care despite the coronavirus outbreak.

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, we have noticed a marked decrease in the volumes of patients who would normally be presenting to our emergency department to receive care for potentially life-threatening conditions. The concern our providers have is that patients who would otherwise seek help without hesitation are now delaying that treatment or are refusing to enter our facility due to fear of catching COVID-19.

We want to assure anyone who is experiencing a significant and potentially serious issue — such as chest pain, abdominal pain, slurred speech or dizziness that does not go away — that our emergency department is open and ready to care for you in a safe, clean environment. Delaying the treatment needed for these conditions could potentially lead to long-lasting, serious conditions.

Our team has taken the utmost care in creating a safe environment for patients. This includes altering and increasing our cleaning and sanitizing practices, screening all potential visitors and staff for possible COVID-19 symptoms and making adjustments to provide safe airflow to all patient areas. In addition, we have taken measures to ensure our supply of personal protective equipment (PPE) is stable and adequate.

If you feel you need emergency medical care, please be assured that Eaton Rapids Medical Center is still here to provide that care to you. We are committed, as always, to treating every single patient who walks through our doors with compassion. Our team will do everything possible to keep you safe and ensure you’re provided with the highest quality care. Our emergency department has been, and will continue to be, open and staffed 24 hours a day every day of the week.

Thank you for all of your support during this difficult time.
