It’s become a fun holiday tradition in Charlotte — Holiday Cash Giveaway. For nearly 10 years, The County Journal has teamed with several local businesses to provide their customers the opportunity to win up to $1,000 in holiday cash just for shopping local.
Entering is easy and winning isn’t any more difficult. To register, find the local participating businesses on page 15 of this week’s County Journal. By shopping at any one of these locations, customers can register to win a weekly cash prize. Each Thursday evening — from Nov. 12 through Dec. 10 — all participating stores will draw one lucky individual’s name. From those names, one grand-prize winner will be selected at random to receive $200 in Holiday Cash gift certificates, which are valid at any participating business.
There is a small catch, however. The winning name will be drawn by 5 p.m. on Thursday evening and posted at each participating business. The winner then has one hour — until 6 p.m. — to claim their prize by stopping into any one of the participating businesses. If the $200 is not claimed by 6 p.m., the amount will be rolled over into the following week’s drawing, increasing the grand-prize amount by an additional $200.
The concept behind the Holiday Cash Giveaway has always been to encourage residents to shop local for the holidays. There are many great businesses in the area that can provide great gifts for everyone on your Christmas list. Holiday Cash Giveaway is just another great incentive to shop local this season.
All participants must be at least 18 years old to register or win. To register by mail send a postcard with complete name, address, phone, email address and age to The County Journal, 241 S. Cochran, Charlotte, MI 48813. No purchase necessary.
