Tims PizzaScott Ramage wasn’t looking for any special recognition when he decided to repaint the façade of his Olivet pizzeria. When the Olivet Chamber of Commerce came calling, however, the usually reserved Ramage decided turning down the recognition wasn’t a wise decision.
The Olivet Chamber of Commerce presented Ramage and Tim’s Pizza with a “We Noticed” certificate Friday, Sept. 4 in recognition of his efforts to beautify the downtown district. Ramage gave the front of his restaurant a bit of a facelift this summer, which added to the City of Olivet’s and Olivet Chamber of Commerce’s beautification efforts.
The facelift is another way Ramage intends to keep Tim’s Pizza a popular place for lunch and dinner in the community. Ramage has owned the business for the past 20 years, though he has worked there even longer. He’s been a member of the Olivet community since his time at Olivet College, from where he graduated in 1989. In 2010, he purchased the building that used to house Olivet City Hall, turning it into expanded seating. Tim’s Pizza now seats 96 and offers free wifi.
Ramage said he owes much of the success of the business to his loyal employees. His two managers, Kari Brandon (13 years) and Gordon Turner (nine years) are the backbone of the business, he said.
Tim’s Pizza features a selection of salads, subs, breadsticks, a few Mexican dishes, ice cream and of course, pizza. Stop in for daily lunch and dinner specials. Tim’s Pizza is located at 102 S. Main Street in downtown Olivet and is open Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
