The Olivet FFA competed in the virtual district leadership contests from February 8-11 at Olivet High School.
The Junior High Conduct of Meetings team consisting of Keira Fudge, Joe LaSalle, Ben Kelenske, Faith Hebenstreit, Paul DeVito, Peyton Huffman, Adaven Ross, and Owen Osborn received a 1st place gold award and will compete at regionals. The Greenhand Conduct of Meetings team consisting of: Addison Van De Moortel, Emmalie Letts, Laken Piepkow, Peter Zimmerlee, Brennen Etson, Ryleigh Mauk, and Ethan Ryan received 1st with a silver award and will also be competing at the regional level.
The Parliamentary Procedure team consisting of Prestin Sterley, Abigail Dotts, Kennedy Moore, Katherine Rugg, and Andrew Shadler received a 1st place gold award and will compete at regionals.
In the Job Interview contest Emily LaSalle received 1st with a gold award and William Letts placed 6th. Emily will go on to compete at regionals. Our Extemporaneous Public Speaker, Braylon Van De Moortel, competed and placed 1st gold and will be moving on to regionals. In Public Speaking Savannah Mauk received 1st with a gold award and will advance to regionals, while Emma Kelenske placed 3rd with a gold award.
Our Agricultural Issues who showed the pros and cons of wind turbines consisting of Zach Salyers, Blaine Cords, Joe Zimmerlee, Zach Hebenstreit, Anthony DeVito, and Makayla Roll placed 1st with a gold award. Our other Agricultural team who showed the pros and cons of lab meat consisted of Emilie Hebenstreit, Leah Kiss, Michael Kiss, Leanna Lindsay, Zana Shilling, Michael Kiss, Leah Kiss, and Emma Merrill placed 2nd with a gold award. Both teams will be moving on to compete at regionals.
