While Linda’s Salon is still in its youth, Linda Maurer has been a hair stylist for nearly 30 years. Her business on Grand Street in Eaton Rapids may be new, but the longevity of her skills and her customers has tripled her clientele, by her own account. Now, Linda’s Salon is expanding their services with massage therapy and pedicures.
Todd Tuner and Sabrina Forbes joined Linda’s team in August. Turner is Linda’s new massage therapist, and Forbes the new stylist, who is accepting new clients daily.
“He’s very good at what he does,” said Linda.
Even with his honed skills, Linda feels that he’s been an under-utilized part of the business so far. She hopes more customers will come just to see him, or to enjoy a massage before or after a hair cut.
Linda is likewise impressed with Forbes, who also brings a new set of skills and services to the salon. Linda has always focused on hair, so branching into other areas of cosmetics has been a great opportunity for the business to expand, and to serve the needs of more Eaton Rapids residents.
Linda’s Salon, however, isn’t so big that it’s forgotten its roots. Linda prides herself in owning a small-town, homey business that’s easily accessible and affordable for her neighbors. Linda is herself an Eaton Rapids native, and most of her clientele is over the age of 50. Providing what older generations want and need is still close to Linda’s heart.
“The styles change over the years, and some styles come back around,” said Linda.
The first year of moving into the Grand Street building and adding more staff hasn’t changed the focus and services of Linda’s Salon. While 2017 brought some new and exciting opportunities, the core of Linda’s business, philosophy, and services remains the same. Quality care that’s affordable.
Linda’s also offers tanning, and is open Monday 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. specifically for tanning beds only. The rest of the week she is open 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Fridays from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturdays 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. She welcomes those looking for a new regular salon, or those looking for some of the older hairstyles. Linda especially invites anyone wanting to take advantage of the new massage therapist.
To all of the friends, family, neighbors, and clients, Linda sends her thanks for the support and love.
