The CPS Athletic Department would like to introduce its new varsity head football coach, Kevin Bennett. A committee, made up of community members, football alumni, current and former administrators, and a former football coach, participated in the final round of interviews and unanimously supported the hiring of coach Bennett.

Bennett is a very skilled and knowledgeable football coach who has experienced a lot of success over his career.  He has been a part of both 8-man and 11-man programs over his 12 years as a football coach. In addition to being a varsity head coach, he has experience as an offensive coordinator, defensive coordinator, and offensive and defensive line coach.  His teams have qualified for the playoffs 11 times and he has won six league titles over the same time. His teams have held winning records in 11 out of 12 seasons.

Bennett also has had success as a varsity head basketball coach in Indiana and Michigan.

Bennett understands that success is both athletic and academic for student athletes and is dedicated to seeing his players reach their full potential on the field and in the classroom. He focuses on educating young players and maximizing the strengths of veteran players.

Bennett has been a pastor for more than 20 years and he has been married to his wife, Rhea for 21 years. They have three sons, Samuel (12th grade), Nathan (11th grade), and Levi (fourth grade). Bennett is thrilled to join the team at Charlotte High School and provide leadership to the next generation of Charlotte athletes.  He is looking forward to connecting with players, parents, and staff, as well as collaborating with local community programs.  Please help us in welcoming Coach Bennett to the Charlotte community.
