If one is looking for a healthy alternative for breakfast, lunch or even dinner, Oriole Nutrition in downtown Charlotte is a new option.
The smoothie shop and juice bar is owned by Wendy and Dwayne Cornish. They are both Herbalife independent distributors, and they opened Oriole Nutrition about a month ago. The shop offers a wide variety of smoothies, shakes and teas.
Wendy Cornish is excited to have a spot in downtown Charlotte.
“We want to make a community healthier one shake at a time,” she said. “Two years ago, I tried Herbalife because I wanted to get healthier.”
She is now, clearly, a firm believer in their product.
“I fell in love with the products and also the marketing plan they offer,” she said. “I feel amazing and have energy through the roof, and I can do things at 53 years old that I couldn’t do at 30.”
Oriole Nutrition offers 175 different smoothie options, she explained, including some that are gluten-free. Some of the flavors include birthday cake, fried ice cream, peanut brittle, ‘Dirty Elvis,’ no-bake cookie, fudgy monkey and more. Their smoothies are 250 calories or less and have 24 grams of protein. They can serve as a meal replacement or as a healthy snack, she said, and are good for any age from kids to seniors.
Wendy recently retired from Cereal City Pediatrics in Battle Creek, where she worked for 24 years as a front-office supervisor. She’s now working full time at the shop. Dwayne works at Denso Manufacturing, also in Battle Creek, and is a Marine veteran. Wendy said they had a dream of one day opening up a nutrition club, and their dream came true with Oriole Nutrition.
The Cornishes recently moved to Charlotte and have purchased a historic home in town. They hope to open a second nutrition club in Holt in the future.
