Due to the unfortunate closure of the Potterville recycling center, the Charlotte Area Recycling Authority (CARA) would like to urge residents to continue their recycling efforts.
CARA asks that recyclers please be mindful of the difference in acceptable items between the two facilities, as well as CARA’s hours of operation. The acceptable items list for CARA is available on-site, online on the City of Charlotte’s website, on the CARA blog and on the CARA Facebook page. Reminder, unauthorized dumping at CARA is illegal and subject to a hefty fine. Please only visit CARA during open hours.
CARA’s Hours of Operation:
Tuesday — 8 a.m. to noon
Thursday — 2 to 6 p.m.
Saturday — 8 a.m. to noon
*Weather permitting – closed on all major holidays.
CARA continues to rely heavily on donations and is always seeking more help with monetary contributions and volunteers.
